SOUL CAFÉ is an exciting oasis of mid-week refreshment that everyone is invited to experience. We start our evening at 6:00 p.m. with dinner. The menu this week includes Chili, Tossed Salad, Bread, and Assorted Desserts & Beverages. The cost of the meal is $5 per person and $15 per family. Children five and under eat for free. Please let us know if you will be eating dinner with us this week by writing Soul Café on your Welcome Card with the number who will be eating. If you have to arrive late, we will have a plate waiting for you.

At 6:45 p.m., we gather in the Celebration Hall to sing a couple of songs. The children then join together in KidZone for a special activity just for them. Have you wanted to ensure that your children have a solid foundation for interacting with the Bible. The children are currently learning Basic Bible Skills. Ensure that your children know the Bible so that they can spend a lifetime harvesting the riches contained in God’s word.

While the children are involved in their activity, the middle and high school youth, college age adults and other adults are participating in 40 Days of Purpose. The teaching this evening is “You Were Created To Become Like Christ.” Following the teaching, those in attendance enjoy dessert in a small group setting as they share their questions, observations and reflections on the evening’s teaching. At 8:20 p.m., those who desire to receive Holy Communion are invited to gather in the Celebration Hall. The evening concludes by 8:30 p.m.

Come on out and check out this great opportunity to go deeper in your relationship with Jesus and to experience the warmth of community and fellowship present amongst those who gather. A new small group for women meeting during the day on Tuesdays will begin on Tuesday, January 17. The group will be studying “James: Mercy Triumphs,” by Beth Moore. The group will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. each Tuesday in the area to the right of the platform in the Celebration Hall. The study book costs $14.95 plus tax. A new Sunday Morning Small Group will begin meeting on Sunday, January 22, 2012, in KidZone at 9:00 a.m. They will study “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan. If you would like more information, please contact John or Tara Norbeck (972-5501)

Have you noticed the banner in the back of the Celebration Hall? The initials of approximately 1,250 persons who either do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ and/or who are not involved in a vital church where their faith is being encouraged and nurtured are displayed on this banner. We are currently engaged in a 40-day period of prayer for these individuals and specifically our individual ten most wanted using a The Most Wanted Devotional.
